My PT Adventures

Hi everybody,
I promised you an update about my physical therapy and so, now that Mom is off the computer, here it is.
Last week, Mom took me to the vet's office and she examined me. She said I was protecting my weak leg and that I would need therapy to help it grow stronger, so yesterday was my first appointment. We went in, and I had to get into this long box with a tredmill on it. I knew what that was, and at first, I was happy. I've walked on Tredmills before and know how to do it, but never with watter around them. I didn't like the water at all, and I kept trying to get out to where Mom was. She stood in front of me and told me what a good boy I was. I just kept walking on the tredmill, and Dr. Julia kept trying to give me treats, but I was too stressed to take them.
After a while, the tredmill stopped moving and they turned on these loud jets which made the water bubble. I wasn't so scared anymore, and I took treats from Mom and Dr. Julia. Finally, after a long time, they let me out of the long box and I shook off. They dried me with towels and then put my front half on a ball. I was scared and tried to climb over the ball, but Mom was there and she wouldn't let me. She held my head and told me I was a good boy in a calm voice. I got less scared after that. Dr. Julia made me stretch my back legs out while I rested on the ball, but only fir a little bit and then I was done. After that, Dr. Julia did some kyropractic something on my back and neck, and I felt much better. My back didn't hurt anymore and after we were done with PT I slept a lot the rest of that day.
I go back on Friday for more Mom says and she also says I'll get used to it, but I don't know. I don't like water and the jets scare me, but Mom says this is how they'll make my leg all better and I believe her.
Tomorrow, Mom and I are going to speak at a school with lots of kids. We like doing that a lot, and I like all of the little kids. Well, I'll end this entry for now, but I liked telling you all about my PT stuff. I'll write again tomorrow and tell you about the adventure at the school.
bye for now everybody,

surprises

hi everybody,I've got some new things to tell you all about. Last Thursday, Mom had her last day at Physical Therapy. It was sad to say good bye to Catie, but it was fun to see her when we had the chance. Mom says she still has to do her exercises everyday, and Catie said Mom could call her if she needed anything. Mom is really happy though, that her knee is feeling much better.
This Tuesday, my brother Marlin and I both went to the vet. Marlin needed his kennel-cough shot and I have a rash on my tummy, so we went. I love the doctors there. They are always so nice to me and they give me treats and kisses and lots of pets. That day, we saw Dr. Jen. She's a very nice lady and she was gentle when she looked at us. Anyway, she was lifting my left back leg and I felt my knee-cap pop out again. It's been doing that for a while now, but in true lab fashion, I haven't let on that I've been bothered. Mom noticed something in July and I had my hips x-rayed. The x-rays came back fine then, and the orthopeedic vet who looked at me didn't find anything, but now, Dr. Jen is able to make my knee-cap pop in and out of place. She called it, a Luxating Platella.
After she told Mom what it was, they talked about me needing to have surgery. I could tell Mom was kind of worried, so I went over to her, and she gave me a hug. Jen said that Mom could talk to their orthopeedic specalist about the surgery and so she did. I wouldn't be able to do anything for two whole months andMom doesn't want that to happen.
When we got home from the vet, Mom called Guide Dogs for the Blind, and talked to a great vet there. They decided to try physical therapy before surgery, and so now Mom says that on Tuesday, we get to go to a place where another vet is to see what she has to say. Mom told me that there is lots of stuff there that could help make me feel better. I hope their is. Mom wants to do the best thing for me, and I still want to keep working for Mom so I hope this helps.
It's supposed to be cold tomorrow, but Mom and I have to get up and take the bus into Highland to go to Mom's hair-cut appointment. Mom is excited about going on the bus again, even if it is very cold out. I'm excited too because I just love taking the bus, even in winter, and even when I sit on the wet floor and my but and legs get all dirty and wet, ick!
I'll let you all know how my appointment goes next week, and about our adventures tomorrow, but right now I'm tired and I'm going to sleep now.
bye for now everybody,yawn!
